How does Rarible handle media formats?

How exactly does Rarible handle media? I’m interested in utilizing video and audio to create unique NFT’s with an incredibly high bar for quality. I want to guarantee a unique experience on this platform, and had a few questions [apologies if this information is somewhere else, I’m new here]:

  1. Can you upload a .mov as an NFT?
  2. Is there video/audio compression involved with uploading media?
  3. Is there a limit to the file sizes?
  4. Is there a limit to the amount of time for a video/audio?
  5. Are there preferred file formats for media in general within NFT’s?

Hi and welcome among us, @DrewElder.

A little “hi” or a “hello” and a little introduction would have been appreciated, especially for your first post

Indeed, most of your questions are answered either on Rarible or here.

  • 1- no. you must convert it to .mp4 before.
  • 2- no
  • 3- 30 mb as specified on Rarible
  • 4- Of course as you’re limited to 30 mb
  • 5- it depends of the type of file.

I wish you the best here.
