I was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. I studied painting Massachusetts College of Art in the 1970s. My interest in color in space started taking hold while mainly painting in a representative style. After graduating from Massachusetts College of Art I continued my studies at Skowhegan School of Art in Maine and went on to pursue a MFA at Boston University gradu. After graduating I went on to a career in graphic design but continued painting throughout the years. I am now painting full time.
My interest lies in the relationship of shapes, both positive and negative, and how color affect the the shapes in space and composition. I am fascinated by the brain’s ability to seek out these relationships and find meaning, pattern and familiarity. I paint mostly in casein but recently started creating digital painting. I view my paintings as living things and like to think of them as experiences. Thus, I am offering a chance to purchase time lapses of my digital painting.
